Description
This wonderful silver coin is dedicated to Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen who was a German physicist. His name is linked to the discovery on November 8, 1895, of electromagnetic radiation in the frequency range now known as X-rays. The announcement of this discovery was made on January 5, 1896. The site of the discovery today is a small museum, the Röntgen-Gedächtnisstätte. Röntgen was awarded an honorary doctor of medicine degree by the University of Würzburg. The coin is fluorescent print, digital print, and microprint and comes in a case, along with its certificate of authenticity. Limited mintage of 500 pieces worldwide!
